Patriotic address sign carved from basswood, painted with artist’s acrylics, and sealed with a matte acrylic finish. Happy Independence Day.

Very attractive little sign! I like the layout and paint finish too – plenty of charm
I’ve been making and selling signs of all kinds for almost 30 years so i know a good one when i see it

If not sandblasting the background out (which would be mainly done with cedar), short consistent sized scoops carved for the background will produce a nice effect too – similar to what you have between the 9 and the 7 and all in a roughly horizontal direction. This way the shadow shapes are similar to a water surface and allow the eye to best read the first surface message.
Great job and thanks for sharing

This is a beautiful design and nicely done.

Excellent design and I like the patriotic theme a lot.
