Well this is the stranger wood I run across in a long time,it looks like pine grain and after cutting is like ash, turns like butter, but is very hard and heavy,is very wet rigth now,the wood was 8×8x12 feet long, total cost $40.00 a steal even for peru, got me 10 pieces of 8×8x12” at 4 dollars a shot,it has some brown spalting due to wetness, but boy is soo much fun to turn,it does not move very much, sands easily, turns better and the pieces there are,8×8 end grain,6×8 end grain,4×8 side grain, the last pict is of the wood as delivered, have wood for abouth 15 days of pure pleasure, usually turn 2-3 a day,and after a couple of days return all over again this wood dry very fast ,in a week it will be down to 15% after turning, how does it finnish? well will see in a cuple of weeks, will post the finished product,or what is left of them, lol

Seems you find a nice wood, ha!
Beautiful vessels, the shapes are awesome!
I’m originally from Colombia, and often I remember how nice are the hardwoods down there….That wood looks like “oak” ......how smells it?
