Child size table & stools. 100% Cherry. The table is 20” tall & the stools are 12” tall. Everything Is finished with spar urethane then the Table top is coated with famo wood glaze coat. Then to remove some of the sheen it is steelwool’d then wiped with boiled linseed oil. This set is on its way to a school in Colorado.
I have been doing more larger projects & fewer projects all together. Also I have been selling lots of raw slabs to help pay for the mill.

That is a lot of cherry!! Looks good, they should be happy if the shipping isn’t more than the price of teh table and stools ;-)) I read you home page piece. I see yoiu make milk stools too. What do they look like? The one I used was just 2 2×4s nailed together to form a “T”.

Geez, If I’d been on the ball I’d have asked if that was where the school was? :-))

Very cool project!!! A school, eh? The moment I saw this what popped into my head was the image of a ciild’s playhouse in the style of the seven dwarfs. This piece ‘creates’ that atmosphere. Good work! (side note: the humorous thing is that if I were to find a cut-off of a 4” log of cherry wood I’d be all excited… and what, you have a whole forest?) :-)

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)

Nice work here. It really caught my eye. I will have to look into your slabs, I get slab, you get to build more sounds like a sweet deal.

Thanks to all!!! the stools are only 12” tall & weigh about 20 lbs except 1 its a fatty & is double. I was too tired to keep going so I payed the price in shipping. LOL. In larger adult stools & end tables weight is a problem sometimes. 70 is the PO shipping limit so I try to stay around that, but often go over because people want BIG stuff. If you look back a few projects there is another of these cherry slabs from the same log….. I have about 7 or 8 left. All 8/4 & 1 @ 12/4 X 24 – 30” X 7’ & all would be freight shipments…. but we do get up to mass now & then. Or could meet 1/2 way or something. I’m driving slabs up to meet someone from NY on I-80 on friday. & a truck load of slabs to brooklyn at the end of the month… Yes I am very busy, almost to the point of insanity.

You sure do make some beautiful stuff. I love your style and use of the wood, not only this project but on all I have seen so far. I’ll have to make the trip up to Fredericiksburg to see your place and look at your slabs one of these days. I would also like to know more about the bowties I see in so many of your pieces. Can you elaborate on that or point me to a blog or something where you discuss it?
