Since recently getting accustomed to handcut dovetail, I have been building quite a few of these trays as gifts for friends and family. For this one I decided to play around with the size of the tails. The sides are elm, and mulberry, and the bottom panel is applewood. This piece was finished with BLO and my home made beeswax polish.
All of the wood used in the box was milled and kiln dried by yours truly. There is something so satisfying to me to work with wood from the beginning of cutting it down to milling/drying it, to finishing a project with it.

Inspirational.
I’ve been thinking of making a tool caddy/ tool box similar to this. Mostly to teach my self how to do the dovetails.
I might try to find some shop time this weekend now.
