here’s how i built it on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiArfLkrNlM

I’ve been thinking a lot about dust collection lately and how I hardly use it. I tried to think of what I needed in a dust collection system for me to actually us it. I previously had my collector hook to the bottom of the table saw which really didn’t seem to help that much because it was all ready a closed in cabinet under the saw so not to much dust came from there to begin with. I figure that if i had dust collection at the blade, I would see more of an improvement in dust collection, thus making it worth my while to turn it on. So if i’m going to make a boom I might as well make sure I can use it at the bench as well as at my planer.

I have been meaning to build one of these for a long while. I like your idea having it on a swing arm. I will be using it.

thanks

Wow, that’s pretty sweet! I haven’t watched the video so not sure if it’s in there but does it shift at all on you during use or do you have a way to lock it in place?

Great idea! That would be useful for other tools also. I’m in a small shop and tools are on casters to move around based on need at the time. A boom arm would make connecting DC much easier & neater than running across the floor!

Have your say...
