Hello, I just found this site and have enjoyed looking a others work. Thought someone might enjoy some of mine. I began doing segmented bowls about one year ago after reading “Woodturning with Ray Allen” this is the project from his book. I made this for practice out of scrap wood in my shop. Bowl is Hard Maple, and Mahogany, center of diamond is red heart and the top rim is black wood. I used a tung oil finish. I am pretty satisfied with the finished product, neighbors think it is great, but I can see the glue in a few joints so I know I can do better. Col D

Nice. I keep telling myself that someday I will try segmented turnings. Whhen I do I hope they turn out this well.

we need to be our own worst critic.. the pictures look perfect.. the thing i like about segmented is working with kilm dried as opposed to “free” green wood..
