We just had a heat pump/AC unit installed. Last winter we had so much snow that the heat pump would have been buried. So, I made a snow shed with a roof that raises for easy servicing. It was made from three 2×4x8 pieces of framing lumber. a 3/4X24×48 sheet of treated plywood, four 4” L-brackets , two heavy duty hinges, some left over T-111 and small stack of cedar shingles (Lowe’s). The total cost of the project was $65.00. It took approximately 6 hours to frame, buildout and paint.
