Here is a planter I built out of western red cedar deck boards. All the joinery is with pocket screws. I made a custom sized insert out of galvanized sheet metal to prevent direct soil contact. I finished it with three coats of spar varnish to protect the wood and prevent it from fading to gray. I’m very happy with how this came out, and hope to get many years out of it. Thanks for looking!
