This is just 1 of 2 matching desks that go to a complete office I did for a Lawyer and his wife for their office in their home. Nothing but a few coats of Lacquer with an oil rub was all that was needed to bring out the natural beauty of the Black Walnut.

European walnut is not black, more a light grey with black grain.

Eddy, no, The price that they paid for everything I built for them, I wouldn’t even c onsider particle board for the drawer baffles. The cavity panels were veneer over MDF which some people consider the same as particle board, but in my experience are as different as night and day. The top is 100% solid Walnut 2 1/4” wraped with the same and taken to a cabinet shop I use to work at to send through the drum sander.
