I like it… interesting sculpture… and is there a story about how your art work came about? Now you have me wondering what I could create with an old Skill circular saw…

Whiskey: That router can’t be from Harbor Freights, it has a bearing on that shaft!
Al: All I have ever been able to create with my old Skill Circ Saw was bad cuts: but that just might be me.

Yep, it does. It’s HF you know. That’s why it’s now a lamp…

I love it! How long did you own it before it became art?

I always wondered how to improve the lighting while I route . . . but does the shade get in the way? ;-)

That should be “enlightening” to all those fellows who keep asking about buying “cheap” tools.

Definitely. The motor itself didn’t give way – Dusty had it right – It’s the damn fickle Chinese electronics. After the power gave out the second time in under 10hrs of use, I picked up a router worth a bit more of a darn – a Craftsman, an older than me B&D (runs like a beast) & the Bosch Colt (I really enjoy that little’n). I’m a happier man now, and I can see what I’m doing to boot!

Will your invention pass the local codes for electrical appliances?
I have one china made sliding miter saw that “eating” the drive belt. I got to replace the belt after 10 – 20 cuts. It’s too bulky and heavy to sit on my night stand, though LOL.

I protest, I have a 3 1/2 hoarse HF router thats lasted me 4 years now, and still runs strong. However, I’ve bought some real junk there too. Maybe it’ll give out anyday now, but I or we were able to do all the finish work in my house with it ,mostly pine, but still I’ve run maple and oak through it without burning it up. I think having a speed control on it and taking small cuts on deep cuts and working into the cut helps a lot. I have bought other routers there like the little trim routers, like they are a looser but for the money you can throw them away. Just my 2 cents. I’ve kept it in the router table the whole time.

Great looking lamp, now if you could buy a compact fluorescent lamp that would last a little longer
than the router did, you’d really have something there.<(;Q}#
