I know that the thumbnail photo is cropped sort of funny…This was the only way I could get the head in the picture for the project thumbnail image.

This Bald Eagle wood sculpture makes a great gift for him. I hand carved this piece of wall art from one piece of wood. This OOAK piece of original art was carved by me, Josh Carte, here in Ohio.

This wall-hanging wood carving is 9 3/4” tall, 4 3/4” wide and 1” thick.

I created this sculpture in a piece of Box Elder wood.

I began by drawing my design onto the wood. Next, I started to cut out the shape on a bandsaw. After that, it was time to begin relieving the wood (making it look dimensional). This part took hours and hours to complete. Once all of the carving was finished, I used a torch to darken the wings :) I used just a tad of paint on the eye, beak and branch. The entire carving was finished with polyurethane.

If I can be of any assistance, I’d be glad to help :)

Thank you, Tom! I love seeing Eagles…. Not many of them around here, though.
