Finnally, I figured out how to get my pictures on the site. I have been looking at this site for some time now. I like making boxes and have some here I thought worthy of your site. Please offer any advice. As this will only help me improve. The larger box is walnut with curly maple top and stripe. The other is cherry with a carved poplar top. I like carving the poplar. I was concerned with the poplar with the cherry but, I am happy with the outcome. The bottoms are 1/4” birch plywood.

The carved box is outstanding. I don’t know how you guys can carve with a knife (I have to cheat and use rotary burrs). The other box is great to but I really like the carved one… inside and out. Welcome to the site.. I just signed on a couple of weeks ago and find everyone to be encouraging and friendly. Good work.

Thanks,
The carving is new to me. I started chip carving back in the winter and currently I am moving into relief carving.

Wow!
That sucker is BEAUTIFUL!
I’m sure glad you figured out how to post your pictures.
You are going on my buddy list just so I can see what you post next.
That is really nice work.
I’ve tried carving but it’s no where near as nice as that!

It is no longer “your” site. Now that you have joined, it is “our” site. Welcome to LJ oooops.
Your boxes are unique and beautiful. I like making boxes too. The only criticism I can offer is that the pictures are taken at angles that make it hard to tell which box is which when opened and you didn’t take enough. Always use at least six pictures so the inexperienced people like me can observe and get ideas of how to copy your work. ;2)
Hoping to see more of your work.
