I had these great leg quarters left from the cabinet shop that I used to work for, so I decided to put them to good use. I compiled the scrap woods that I had, ranging from alder to oak and even some paint grade plywood, and turned it into this T.V. stand. Once it was built and sanded, I distressed it using a hammer, screws, nails and various other tools. When that was done, I sprayed it with two coats of a dark red lacquer. Once the red was dry I coated it with one coat of black lacquer. While the black was still soft, I began scraping it off in places to allow the red to show through. Once the whole thing was cured, I went over it with steel wool to dull the finish and help make it look older.

The SketchUp image shows the profiles better.
