I started with a standard exterior door. I built a 2.5 frame of cedar with a dado in the back to apply the saguaro cactus spines, then coated with boiled linseed oil. To finish the corners, I designed and carved 4 end caps on the CNC, which then were coated with “Bronze B”, brown patina and black wax, to give them an aged bronze look. The metal coatings are from they have free you tube vids available. Note: the saguaro cactus spines were purchased with a certified government tag to certify that they were harvested legally. US government regulations…

Nice – totally unique, at first I assumed the corners were metal. Amazing what you did with your CNC

Thank you. I want to encourage woodworkers to see the value in metal coatings. I have added a new Wow to my projects. There are metal like paints, that work for some, but I love this stuff- it has real metal in it.
