I needed a cover for my latest ebook of five short stories about modern day monster hunter Thaddeus Long. Since I am terrible at using the programs I have for doing graphics I did what I knew I could, I made what I needed. Thaddeus Long hunts our nightmares and one type is of course vampires, I made this mallet and stake from a piece of rescued oak then laid them on my coat that is similar to what is in the book and viola book cover.

Very nice mallet and um er vamp-sticker. The mallet head has some nice worm holes, but I would dirty them up a little more for effect.

Nice cover picture but a little blood would add to it .

I am partially color blind. That red text is hard for me to read.

The mallet and stake look nice.

Great mallet, great stake, and really great that you are featuring your wood work on your literary work. I am registered to take a class in self publishing next week at our local art center and it is encouraging to know that someone else is doing what I hope to do one day. Best wishes for continued success in both wood and words.

Thanks and good luck if you do publish. One thing to remember a self published author averages maybe 70 copies sold of a piece of work and that is if you are lucky. 70 as an average means that there are a lot of titles that sell pretty much zero and they are in the majority. Thaddeus Long is my fifth book, Dark Karma: West Texas Split is my first novel length and all mine are self published ebooks.
