In the tradition of Klaus Kiefer I upgraded Murphy’s Drill press Table!

Making a bench / table for my chainsaw mill. Did the 30 plus holes for support and cross members for this next project.

I stood there thinking “how am I going to drill these accurately,” and it came to me that I needed an accurate extension arm very similar to the kind used on crosscutting sleds. I was very fortunate to find a pristine four by three-quarter piece of clear pine which is unusual for my shop.

It required some major P’s of woodworking. Patience and Precision. Of which I sorely lack! LOL!

I’m happy with the results.

If you are interested in adding it to your list of things to build you can check my blog.

Nice work, you must have more patience than you realize.

Klaus,

As you know it’s up the ladder one step at a time.

Just took time outs when I started to get distracted by Murphy. LOL!

Thanks!

What’s the old saying, “measure twice, drill once” or is it “measure twice, cut once” :-) Regardless, I think you’ve got the measuring part down pat. Great idea Tom.

Lee,

Thanks! I’m making an effort to provide the tools and jigs that reduce the frustration and precision that I often experience. LOL! We’ll see?

Grizz,

Thanks for coming! I keep asking the cats “Were you born in a barn?!” And they say “Meow!” Started cleaning up everything!

I’m hoping that my attentional issues will be compensated by the visual references.

Jim,

Always welcome! Keifer has been a great influence on me to “be patient, and be precise.” Murphy already got first billing but stayed out of this one by shear will power. Thanks!
