Some time ago I saw beautiful Greene and Greene carved panel which locate at the Gamble House Pasadena. I found high quality picture http://digitallibrary.usc.edu/cdm/singleitem/collection/p15799coll61/id/688/rec/89 and ask my friend to make 3D model of this panel. I decided to make lesser copy (40”х 8”) and G&G style frame for it. Then I order CNC carved panel . I want to add brass inlay in this project . Gustav Stickley and Harvey Ellis used inlay in their furniture projects. I like Mission style inlaid mirror http://www.stickley.com/OurProducts_Details.cfm?id=9455&Collection=Mission&cat1=89&view=all&finish=
The brass detailes glued into sapele pieces with epoxy. For making its I order laser cut of the brass. Now I have small piece of the Gamble House .
I used sapele. ebony for plugs, brass. Finishing is Varathane stain, oil, beeswax.

Edward,

Although I’m not a big fan of cnc it is really well incorporated here.

You always do nice work!

Beautiful G&G carving, and frame! It will look amazing wherever you hang it!

Very nice. I was wondering where you got the brass inlays? I have been looking for something like that for a long time.

This is long story. Two years ago I made Greene and Greene bed http://lumberjocks.com/projects/79859. The first I wanted to make brass details hand made, but then I decided to order laser cut of brass plate because I have not experience the work with brass. I bought this book http://www.amazon.com/Shop-Drawings-Craftsman-Inlays-Hardware/dp/1892836203 and asked my friends to make Correl drawings for laser CNC cut.
I ordered some different details
