Sometimes I have to do a turning that is compleatly functional but I have to embelish it. This is a 20 in Brazilian Cherry Lazy Susan with several different exotic wood inlays. I made this for my parents and had alot of fun doing a relatively easy project. Sometimes I get a little carried away trying to make each of my projects some what artsy but they like it.

Really sweet piece, very clean work. I’m currently doing bent lamination with the same wood, what a pain. Can’t seem to get the same bend when it comes out from the mold. The tension in it keeps springing back in different curves. Any suggestions?

Hate to say it but you are going to have alot of problems with it. Sence it is a plantation grown wood grow very fast there is a huge amount of stress in the fiber. I would suggest cutting the lamination strips as thin as possible to eliminate as much stress as possible before the glue up.

You make turning a 20 inch piece brazilian cherry sound so simple. You are indeed an artsy person, with many many skills. You are way too modest. That is gorgeous.

Have always loved Lazy Susans. Yours is great. Love the subtle touches of a master. Perfect!
