I hope I don’t get in trouble for painting my wood projects, there will definitely be a time when I make something I leave bare or simply stain/seal, but for my basement home improvement projects I have had to paint most of them.

I had door and window trim all picked out for my basement update but the overstock warehouse I buy most of my materials were out and unable to get more. So I decided to create my own version of a craftsman style door trim using:

1×4’s for side casing
1×2
1×6
drip molding on top

All of these materials I already had because of another project I had recently done so the most expensive part was buying the paint and replacing the hardware. I any case, here are a few more pics of the project during pics.

Painted

Done!

Here are a few more for the basement bedroom

Building these using the materials I already had was the very best part of this project, I had only completed 3 or 4 other woodworking projects so I was pretty proud of how they turned out.

Tips and suggestions are eagerly awaited, and I hope I have posted this in the correct section of the site do not hesitate to ask me to move it if I’m in the wrong place.
