Just finished this live edge ash wood side table that I’m calling, “Splitting Giants”… looks like a hobbit commissioned it for the Shire, hehe! It definitely has whimsy to it, which I really enjoy incorporating into the furniture that I build. Who says Fine Furniture has to be serious?! I like the designs I create to be emotive, to come alive in a space! Hope this piece speaks to someone!! ;D

Really nice incorporation of the natural edge & bark into the design, looks great. What finish did you use?, looks like a poly or oil.

Thanks so much for the kind words, Oldtool!!! :D I used gloss spar urethane on the bark & low gloss tung oil on the rest.
