My first commissioned piece for a customer/friend. She didn’t want anything fancy but was adamant about the size requirements and had to have the solid top cause it was going in her mud room off the garage and she wanted a place to put her junk when she came home everyday. I tried to not take her money but she threatened to kick my butt if I didn’t, and she’s a an old vietnamese lady with a black belt. So I didn’t argue.
Just basic box store pine, the sides are glued and doweled together and all screws were put in from the bottom to keep the look clean. Some walnut stain and a couple coats of semi-gloss poly I had left over to keep cost down.
