Project Information
My youngest is enamoured with firefighters and Firetrucks, so when this gauge froze this winter and was stuck on 50 lbs, I replaced it with a new one and brought the old one home for him. It needed something so we could hang it on the wall, so this is what I made today. I resawed a piece of walnut so that the gauge would mount in it. It needed to be about 1/4" thick. Then with some pieces of scrap butcher block countertop that I have I made the frame. The corners are glued and pinned with the new harbor freight pinner I got. Kind of a test run. It worked great. I then finished it with a coat of shellac and some paste wax. Just have to decide how to hang it. My son wants to hang it on a full size Firetruck that he says I should build for him.
