Got to make these two magnetic wooden toys for my little nephew. i know he likes magnets, who doesn’t really? and wanted to make these for him, i really like them a lot that i will do some for myself!.

they are made from Gmelina, which wikipedia says its beechwood, and i used two 8mm round rare earth magnets (not pictured, sorry) at the ends. i made sure to check the polarity so they will be negative and positive, with the intention of make them somewhat educational, hence the colors, apart they look pretty nice.

BTW, he love them and was playing with them all the time.

A real nice idea.

Please make sure those rare earth magnets cannot slam into each other and shatter.
I have had several of the 1/2” magnets shatter just by attraction.

yes, by themselves they will shatter, i had a few done that before, but these are embed(?) in the wood and that gives them a solid surface and i can tell you, i tried them lots of time and they did not have a problem.

next ones i will do i post a pic of how i put the magnets.
