This is a Captains bed that I built in January 2015 using Pine wood. The head board and foot board are made similar to each other. I cut a dado for the 1/4” bead board to slide into. The seams are reinforced with a mortise and tenon type joint.

The drawer unit is only on one side and has 3 large drawers and a trundle that looks like drawers. The finish is Red Mahogany by Minwax.

I like the double bed idea, and storage to boot. Way cool
