This is a Murphy Wall bed that I built using Maple wood and finishing it with a white wash. Normally I finish it in a Whitewash or Pickling stain. The problem with that is it is very thick and has a fast drying time. Since it starts drying it is real hard to get a non-streaky finish.
This one the finish is in the top coat. I mixed a wash coat (a very thin finish) with a white lacquer. A little white lacquer, a little clear lacquer and thinner. I sprayed several thin coat to keep it from streaking.
This face version is what I call the Contempo Murphy bed. I added only one bookcase with this one. I completed it in January 2015.
