Over the weekend, finally made some shop-time to finish up this LP cabinet/shelf. I’m a huge Bruce Springsteen fan, so I found a way to incorporate some of the commemorative posters & set lists from the various (fine, seven in roughly four years) shows I’ve seen. Those set lists are available as PDFs on his website – his handwriting.
I used Mod-Podge to decoupage the posters onto the birch plywood (hell, better’n staining. After two years and a move to high-humidity TX, the wood itself was ruined), some bright-as-flames red paint & poly for the trim, and tung oil for the tapered red oak legs.
When I get older (and my collection grows somewhat) I’ll make the legs thicker & taller, use thinner plywood on the sides and top and make my own moldings. This was another learning project for me. Simple to make, but I still need to learn the ol’ attention-to-detail.
When I get around to it, I’ll update this post – I’m going to make rice-paper shoji cabinet doors using Born To Run posters…should look great.
30” W x 15” T x 15” D, roughly.

Since Charlie stole my first reaction I’ll play it straight. It;s good looking and functional, and I actually like the glass top on this which I ususally don’t. I just can’t remember the last time I turned on a turntable.

This is a greta look stand. I’m a Springsteen fan myself. I have a few of my dad’s BS LP’s too. Not as many as you though!

Nice job! I’ve been meaning to build a case for my 137 LP’s for years, I think you’ve re-kindled the project for me. Come on Charlie there’s no way your young enough to ask that question!!
