Wow! What a large natural edge bowl, Beautiful!! I guess I will have to goggle ‘alcohol dyed’ I don’t know anything about this process, but I like it. Any info you can pass my way would be appreciated.

Hello,
Nice bowl… :-) I frequently use spirit stains and other dye products in my studio work. It really opens up a whole new area for exploration. On a future project, it might be nice to carry the green to the outside by colouring just the beaded area, adding a harmonious tie to the interior and exterior of the vessel. Interesting piece! I’m sort of getting inspired to explore colors when I get some carvings done. Probably after the “honey-do” list ;-))

Amazing bowl! That must be a nice big lathe you have. I agree with Steve’s idea about dying the outer bead to match. I think that would look great. I, too, will need to look up this ‘alcohol dye’ technique. Thanks for sharing!
