From trash to eggs

Some weeks ago I saw chicken in a garden on TV. I did a little research and wanted to try keeping my own chicken. I decided for a race and suddenly got a chance to get four of them. So I had to hurry on building my first attempt on a chicken coop. That’s how trash (old particle boards and some other materials I already had) turned into eggs. It’s only a temporary solution and I am planing to build a better coop from solid wood. But the chickens like this one too and every afternoon they can’t wait to come back from their mobile run to the coop.

Nice project

It is. I wonder, why I didn’t think much earlier about keeping my own chickens. The eggs taste much better, knowing they don’t have to “live” on a poststamp, like most other chickens in the industry do. Their run changes its place every two days and for me it is really nice to watch them scratching and picking in a fresh grassy area.
