I made this box for my brothers daughter who will be attending Clemson University in the fall. This is the first one I have made out of walnut. I like the way it turned out.

Very nice job of scrolling. Does the top come off and do you use the battery candles?

Thank you Larry. You are correct on both. The top comes off and I use a battery candle.

Very nice candle box! The walnut looks really nice, and the scroll work is excellent. And you know, football season is in just a few months!

Wow everyone. Thank you so much for the kind comments. I am also going to try one of these out of leopard wood. And for the gamecock fans, I am working a gamecock box. The gamecock logos pose a bit more of a challenge.

What is funny, I am not a Clemson fan. I am a UNC fan, and this was a bit difficult because of that. My niece is going there, so its ok. Also I live in SC, and I am pretty sure I can sell one or two. I bet a Wisconsin and Ohio State box would be great.

You have a good idea Randy but I now live in California and can’t get close to either campus.

Randy, I actually have a split house and loyalties. My oldest is a 2015 OSU grad (attending grad school there in the fall) and my youngest is a junior in Columbia at USC. I think I am going to have to make each one of them one for Xmas for their repsective school and listen to them argue about supremacy when they open them.
Once again, thanks for sharing.

I once got pulled over in Columbia when I lived down there and the first words out of the cop’s mouth was, “I noticed your Tigers bumper sticker”... I thought I was in serious trouble but he then said, “Just slow it down and have a good day!”
