This is an aspen vase with a walnut neck. The piece is 16 inches tall. Standing dead aspen has great color and character. The minerals are drawn up from the soil and the black ants dig thier tunnels. This is some real cool stuff with the right ageing. If it gets to soft however it will blow up on you as it spins.

Very nicely done. The figure in the wood is stunning. What is the detail on the neck between the aspen and the neck?
