My niece and nephew (who are twins) recently celebrated their first communion. I hadn’t intended to make them a gift at first but everybody else had already gotten them the good stuff :) . I had come across a cross recently that I thought would make a good scroll cut design and so I decided to make them each a box. It is only building grade cedar not the aromatic. I stained the one on the left with an aged maple gel stain and the other I used a dark walnut stain and finished with about 3 coats of gloss polyurethane. Not my best attempt at a box but they still turned out pretty decent if I say so myself considering my time restraints at the time.

They look great. I bet the twins really liked them.

Greg, I keep a pretty keen eye out for boxes, because I just love small wooden boxes – but somehow I missed these to little beauties.

Nice work, Mate!
