Thanks to all the Jocks that helped me trouble shoot in the middle of this project because my drill press handle was in the way. I got these plans from a youtube channel called ThisWoodwork .. so thank you for the detailed video. I have used this a couple times so far and it makes using the drill press so much easier!

I like it and I think i am going to make one. How thick is that insert?

Thanks guys. To answer your question Don, I used two pieces of 1/2 MDF and laminated them together. I cut the place for the insert out before laminating the pieces together and just cut a bunch of inserts out of some more 1/2 inch MDF.

I have the same handle problem, but solved it by taking it off. On my list was to build an extension for the handle, but your idea is much better.
