41×43 walnut slab top table. single piece top. bottom part of the tree had lots of hardware (fence) so only part of the butt log salvageable was the top crotch. finished with wiping varnish

well i know there is still a true way to authenticate one of your pieces john, and i really do like this one….i like the leg system and was wondering if you had added some maple in around certain places for a bit of stark contrast, its just an idea…what would you think of that in a future piece..would like your thoughts

I love this. Looks like you have the nakashima bug. Looking at a piece of wood and seeing what it want’s “to become” is a bit of an art. Strong joinery and natural edges really give these pieces of furniture a presence unlike any other. They just scream out “touch me!” I think this tree definitely wanted to become this table.
