Project Information
Another wine box for a friend's wedding coming up soon. After the Frame debouchel (shattering a large pane of glass), I decided to stay away from glass and stick with what I know best.
The box is made of Oak with a plywood top, made with basic rabbet and dado construction. I have been gluing my boxes up first, and then cutting the lid off on the table saw afterwards, which has been working out pretty well. It seems to keep the box square and ensure that the lid fits perfectly. The Faux Feet (made on the router table) on the bottom help add a simple decorative element. some planer shavings help pad the bottle inside.
The guy who photo-bombed picture 5 was my dog, Bocephus. I guess he felt left out so I figured he could have his own time in the spotlight.
Finish is Minwax Red Mahogany on the sides, and then 3 coats of wipe-on poly.
Thanks for looking, Comments welcome!
