I didn’t think it was possible to stain a table a lighter color. Sounds almost like unsmoking a cigarette. :-)

it took two months to strip the original stain off, won’t do this again

What did you use to strip it? I think it’s harder to do since they took away all the “good stuff” (you know the stuff that plastic surgeons use to remove foot calluses, face wrinkles and noses). Anyways, at least it worked and worked quickly.
THe color you ended up with is super rich looking. Nice work. Is it maple?
