Here is a small wood carving that I produced a couple years back, but just recently discovered in my basement, thought it might interest a few of you wood carving guys… wood carving I do out of pastime I am actually a Cabinetmaker by trade… not a carver. Is made out Linden wood. Very soft and nice to carve. similiar to basswood I think.
Of course Buche means beech in German and Fagus Sylvatica means Beech in Scientific terms, if any is curious. The more I carve though, I have noticed I get better at it, and faster.

Nice job for someone who considers carving just a sideline!
