I built this after seeing several on here and Pinterest. It took me a while to figure out the angles, and I had to build a jig for my miter saw, but I think it turned out great. Now I have about 10 to build for family/friends.

  • EDIT * This is how I made them.
1.) I cut each piece to the same length using a stop block on my miter saw.
2.) I kept the stop block in place, and moved the saw to 36 degrees. Then cut each piece flipping every other piece.
3.) I built the jig for another project, and used it to cut the 72 degree angles for the other side (still flipping every other piece).
4.) You should have 10 pieces total (5 pairs).

Have fun.

That turned out really nice. What were the angles that you ended up using?

I used this to find out what angles I needed. I cut all the pieces the same length (9 1/2”) which is important. You can make them as big as you want, but all the pieces HAVE to be the same length for the angles to work out. I’m making another soon, so I will post pictures as I make it.

Have your say...
