These are to replenish stock for my next sale. I have not made any for a few years and the rack is getting low.
The 4 on the right are female box elder, the next 2 are osage orange and the left one is hard maple burl. I left the raw out side of the burl on top.

They are all finished with EEE and Shellawax.

Cheers, Jim

Thanks you all for the nice comments. I am sure getting in the lathe time now that it is working again.

Hi Marijan. Thanks for the offer. I sure would like to come some day and then go to Slovenia!!

Hi Pete. That is what I’m hoping. I have been gathering cut offs of pretty wood for a long time and have quite a bag full. Lots more to come!!

Cheers, Jim

Good looking Jim. Cool design and super finish with that EEE Shellawax. I never tried that on any turning. How about some purple heart ones. Those always remind me of a wine stopper for some reason.

Thanks Dave, Ivan and Mike.

Hi Dave. I’ll have to dig into my exotic wood box and see if there is any purple heart left. Good idea!!

Hi Mike, that is how I market them- as a gift with a bottle of wine. I tell the story of the wood used too and that gets people interested. That is why I like to have big variety of wood. I need 13 more to fill the rack so the table is full of blanks!!

Hey Jim, another cool idea is a set, red wine and white wine. Try it.

Thanks Rance and John.

Hi Dave. Do you mean one red and white stopper or a pair of stoppers? I did find some purple heart as Ivan suggested.

Cheers, Jim

Jim, I meant two stoppers, one for red wine and one for white wine. Lets say one is purple heart and the other is maple. Sell them as a pair for those wine lovers.
