This is a commissioned piece carved for a friend of the family that lives in Washington.
Being into astrology she ask for moon and stars to be incorporated into it. I like the way it turned out and had a fun time making it for her.

That is really pretty. Fascinating to look at. Great carving. The moon design is very cool.

That looks real nice. I like it a lot better without the paint but I guess you have to give the customer what they want. That wood is just too pretty to cover up. It does look like a fun project though.

Do you known this is a welsh tradition were a young man is supposed to make such a spoon for his sweetheart as a gift before the wedding.MY wife is bronwen she is Welsh and I made one for her thirty eight years ago just in case you wondered LOLAlistair
