Night Stand

This is a night stand I made due to my wife rearranging our bedroom, the old night stand got the axe. The new one had to be tall enough for our bed which is almost 3 feet to the top of the mattress. I wanted to keep it simple and not take up a lot of room. I had watched a video on making a jig for tapered legs and thought they would work perfect for this job to make the overall look more delicate. It was my wife’s idea to router the groves in the drawer face to give it a more decorative look, it’s hard to see in the pictures but the grooves go vertical and horizontal.

Wow that is a really nice piece of furniture. I love the detail in the drawer.

Great piece. And your wife was right (I hear that alot!) about the grooves, they definitely give it a nice finished look. The pronounced grain does kinda hide the horizontal grooves but that doesn’t hurt the appearance at all. Very nice job on the legs as well. They look fantastic. What kind of woods did you use?
