this box i made using cherry for the sides & zebrawood for the ends, maple on the bottom, the top is birch burl, this is a fairely large box as you can see, there are 2 inlay strips of different designs along the sides, with aromatic cedar inlays on all 4 sides, the handle is from maple housed in padauk ends with a popular dowel in the middle to keep it in place, the lid slides in a dado along the insides of the box, i used a natural danish oil on all surfaces , shellac on the inside & a wipe-on poly on the outside, the box was 12” X 5” X 4 1/2” high, there was a nice contrast with the cherry & zebrawood this was a fun project.
thanks for looking.
