No joinery or involved plans needed for this project, but it did take alot of accurate carving and shaping on the inside facing surfaces to match the contours of the frame to fit snug without interference of the internal feed mechanism.
Stabilized dyed buckeye burl (spacitywoodworks.com). Alot of sanding. Finished with tung oil. I may add a few layers of Tru-oil to achieve a higher gloss finish.

Wow – what a beautiful very unique set of grips. I’m sure they’ll get lots of compliments at the range.
