Easter Eggs

Project by Big_Bob posted 231 days ago 489 views 6 times favorited 13 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Each year I think I am going to turn some wooden eggs for Easter. And each year I let Easter catch up on me without making any eggs. This year we found out that our granddaughter is allergic to just about everything you might find in Easter candy. Therefore, I now had a little extra motivation to make her Easter special.

Well guess what this year I got them done all 34 of them. Why 34 I ran out of wood and time. I have a wife and 3 kids, all grown, but I can not make eggs for some of them and not the rest. Lucky for me no two eggs are alike. Otherwise how would a chicken know her eggs from the other chicken’s eggs!

The multi colored eggs are made from a product called Colorwood it is a colored plywood product and it is sold in the Woodturners Catalogue.

The other eggs are walnut, birch, and cherry wood. As for a finish I just took them to a buffing wheel and polished them.

Bob you did a great job on the eggs. I’m glad the procrastination bug did not hit this year!

Nice set of eggs. Almost good enough to eat! Thanks for turning me on to Lumberjocks, it has been fun looking at all the people who are better wood workers than me…....... I feel like rolling up into my embryotic state….... getting so dark…...

Just kidding on it getting dark, the sun just went down…....
