Here are some cheese and cracker servers made of walnut. I made a few of these from the woodsmith magazine last year for Christmas presents. The magazine versions were cherry and maple. I made a couple with a walnut board instead of maple and then everyone wanted the walnut. I had three leftover maple boards so I decided to make the servers out of walnut for the nice contrast.

You were right Henry. Absolutely no one preferred the maple with the cherry. I’ve made changes to the projects I find in magazines but I’ve never seen one that made that kind of impact. Hopefully people like this look as well. By the way, for those thinking about this project, if you are going to make any kind of quantity, get yourself the router bit for the coves. It is so much easier than table saw coves and no sanding after.
