Here is the Mallet I mentioned in my “smarter then the average bear” project posting. It is maple wood. I did a quick little chip carving pattern on it. The finish will be the oil from my hands. It was a simple little project and I’m happy with the way it feels. I’ll make sure it helps produce a ton of carvings.

Neat there Keith. Looks almost like the one I made. I wrapped the head part in leather. I’ll have to bring it home and take a picture of it to post. You did a great job.
