These are some chairs I made for my sister in law. I found the plans online. They are really comfy chairs they sit up a little more in the back than traditional Adirondack making it a little easier to get in and out of. I like both styles.
I think the chairs would have looked nice stained but she wanted white and is probably best because we had to be economical in our wood choice and the paint will help the chairs last longer in the weather.

Danny,

Really look great. Very nice style and looks very sturdy.

Saw these plans offered by a company online that has been talked about on LJ’s. It’s a company to stay away from due to the problems with mutipal billings and not being able to reach them to stop the charges once they start. Can’t remember the name of the company but maybe someone else could refresh my memory?

Well done…. sure to enjoyed for years!!!

A link to the plans/website, would be greatly appreciated.
I want to make some, but don’t like the traditional low, slung back style.
These look to be much more comfy!!!

Great looking chairs – looks like the veranda of the Grand Hotel. Always nice to see a new twist on a classic design. Thanks for sharing

Hey
thanks for the nice comments..I found the plans for these on handy scout.com I think the site pjones is referring to is the one where they say they are free but its just link after link. they are one of those thousands of plans sites you definitely want to stay away from.
The handyman site requires a monthly fee but they do have a free trial period and you can cancel anytime .I got the free trial and ended up keeping it. its around 5 0r 6 bucks a month. They have lots of good plans and articles
I will try to find the link for you .

I think these chairs are very comfy. I like the looks of the traditional but some of the wiser folks that come and visit like these a lot better to get in and out of.
Hope this helps you Randy

Handyman Club Of America or anything affiliated with them is the one that I was talking about. If you go to http://www.complaintsboard.com/?search=handyman you will see all the complaints. Not a good company to business with.

Now do the same for Scout http://www.complaintsboard.com/?search=Scout and read what is said. Not Good. Watch out for these scam sites.

Pjones
I have been using the site just for the wood plans and gardening articles and other building things. I have never had any magazines. I read the posts in the links and it seems like some folks are definitely getting the dirty end of the stick. I have never been offered a lifetime membership or tools to test and haven’t seen it on the site.
I went back and looked at my account and I pay 2.99 a month and there is a link to cancel right on my account page. I would never put a link on lumberjocks to something that I thought was at all shady. it seems from the links you posted that there was an life membership offered with the magazine years ago and now they are getting charged again and if that’s the case then they have every right to be po’d. I can only speak about my experience with the site and I have been a member for less than a year and I have not had any problems so far and I have enjoyed the site.

@Danny

I suppose they want a credit card number up front? For me to be safe, where in the past they are of questionable ethics and business practices, they would have to give me a free look around and a free downloads for period of time without knowing my credit card.

Glade you are satisfied they are legit, but “they” will have to prove it to me directly before I trust them.

For years I received the Handman mag and loved it…not sure why I stopped taking it. But I have not had problems with them. I just went to the site and downloaded the plans…thanks for the link.

I have always wanted to make some of these chairs, but for same reason as others, this old man and woman have trouble getting into and out of the regular models, so I hope these will be better for us.

Just to prove a point I went to the site and signed up for the alleged 7 day free trial for which you do not need to give a credit card but you do have to give them your email address.

Looked around and did a search for the Chairs you show above and found an article giving some information but no link to download the plans.

Only thing they allow you to do is look around at some of the forums and articles but you have to pay to for what they call a purported premium access for $19.00 a year which I did not and will not do as they say nothing which tells me they offer free plans.

What crock, free. I went to my settings which shows as a 7 day free trial and if you wish to cancel the free trial they say click on a button cancel and a pop up comes up where you have to call 1-888-591-5752 between 8AM -5:30PM central time M-F to do so.

Nothing more than a data mining SCAM to get your email address. I am going to try and call them next week and see if they answer the phone…..as that was one of the complaints with these jokers; unable to contact.

So I’m glade you both have allegedly had success with them, but, I do warn others of the “SCAM POTENTIAL”.
