An interesting idea, but for the price of ($220) I think I’ll stick to the old way for the time being.

I think this would be really neat to have even though it is part of the annual LV April Fools promotion.

Weird.
I guess you can also buy lawn flamingos dipped in 14 carrot gold if you search the internet long enough.

Despite the fact it,s an april fools joke, has anyone thought this might just work? or is it just me.

the six gag tools are hilarious, i really like the pouchless toolbelt( don’t walk too close to your tablesaw)
they do say new plane being released 15 may. wonder what it will be.
i wonder what those prototypes they made for this gag would sell for though, definitely one of a kind collector item.

I don’t know, I know I’m getting old and a little bitter when it comes to April Fool’s jokes, especially on legit business sites, and not laughing, when they go through the trouble of writing a thorough product description, even going so far as to have the add to shopping cart icon, but leave important things out like showing the product in “action”. I’m sure some people would actually love to have a saw like that, but a legit site loses my respect and possible sales in the future, when they go that far. Yes I know (because I clicked it to see the result) that the icon takes you to a page where they pat themselves on the back for getting one over on you.

Lee Valley is releasing a new set of Drawbore Pins in a few weeks also, Chris Schwarz had a write up on his blog. Looks pretty sweet.

I’m with you Kiwi. Even though it’s overkill, It actually looks like it might work. But that’s what makes it a good joke.
But joke or no joke the “Veritas – Dodeca-Gauge”” ( http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=1&p=51633&cat=1,42936” )
That Lee Valley put out as a April Fools joke, Believe it or not is something that I can put to use.
Of course I probably couldn’t afford it.

OldSkool…
Not only do they produce the web page with descriptions and photos, they MAKE an example! <g>
I can’t agree with you on the joke being something that would drive me away, but I respect your opinion.
Personally, I enjoy heading to the LV site every April 1st to see what new product they’ve come up with,,,

A few years ago one of the HiFi mags did a writeup about a turntable (record player) that used a laser as a stylus(needle) It WAS an april fools joke a couple months later the functional prototype was done now they are on the market for $3 grand. While the tecnical obsticles of the saw for making multiple cuts at once ar not that difficult to overcome making it cut dovetails would be an entirely different matter as the blades would have to go in opposite directions. Now for box joints…I thought it was funny anyway

Joke or no, I think it shows that today if you need a specialty tool bad enough you could have it made. Modern day, whatever you want you can get it.

Clever joke…. very professionally done all the way through the webpage. Great laugh! But so convincing in its layout.

IT could actually be used for a dovetail saw>>> just imagine a dial to change the angle and then reverse the board and cut again hey… could work!!
