7” diameter, 3” deep
sanded to 400 grit on the lathe
Behlen woodturner’s finish as the finish

I like the sapwood/heartwood contrast. The poplar tree from which this was taken was quite old (and quite large) when it was felled because it proved a danger to my co-worker’s house.

I gave it as a present to an old friend (and her family), but failed to take any pics of it before gifting. She graciously took some photos of it for me and she has much more talent for photography than I.
