This pen was made from a piece of Mexican Parota given to me by a friend who just returned from a vacation in Mexico. The pen turned out nice but very difficult wood to work with because it has a tendency to fuzz badly when cut or turned, even with the sharpest tools. It took a lot of sanding to eliminate the rough surface. In addition you want good dust control. I wore my respirator, had the dust collection system on high and and shop air filtration on full because breathing in the dust is like inhaling chilli peppers.
