I recently signed up for classes at The American Woodcarving and Art School here in NJ. This is my first project after the three tutorials each student goes through. The first photo is the finish product, the next two is the starting blank, then I included a couple details of my favorite part, the tail.

Thanks guys. I’ve got a long way to go…it’s amazing how the finish, in this case beeswax with orange oil, brings out all my sins.

Very nice job. The base really works well with the carving as well.
